Native to North America and grown in at least 38 states as well as South America, blueberries are widely available and can be found year-round. This is lucky for us, considering the many health benefits of these little berries. They are low calorie, high in fiber and antioxidants and easily transportable. According to the Highbush Blueberry Council, blueberries may help with the cardiovascular system, brain health and insulin response.
